ABOUT ME
Dr. Katharine Lacefield (she/her)
I am a board certified and licensed clinical psychologist, with expertise in trauma, depression, and anxiety. I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from University of Central Florida, completed a pre-doctoral internship at Southwest Consortium, and a postdoctoral fellowship in traumatic stress at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. For the past 10 years, I have worked for the VA Healthcare System, as a staff psychologist, clinical supervisor, trainer, researcher, and LGBTQ+ Care Coordinator.
I have specialized expertise in providing evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy for adults with anxiety and related disorder, including Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and Obsessive- and Compulsive-related Disorders. I am extensively trained in Cognitive and Behavior Therapies, Motivational Interviewing, and Interpersonal Processing. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally humble, and seeks to allow me to understand my clients in a holistic way. I emphasize flexibility within fidelity and seek to understand the unique drivers of each client’s problem, such that we can tailor a treatment plan to best fit each client’s wellness goals.
I provide psychological services that integrates, affirms, and celebrates each client’s identity, including race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, personal experience, and relationship to community in the healing process.
